Nokia E61 and E61i
In 2006, Nokia Corporation added yet another smartphone to its Eseries business collection, the Nokia E61 and in early 2007 Nokia announced its follow-up product when introducing the Nokia E61i.
Both the Nokia E61 and the Nokia E61i are available in a classy silver casing, they are both aimed at business users in the European market and they both feature a very easy to use and highly responsive QWERTY keyboard. Furthermore, both the Nokia E61 and the Nokia E61iwere designed with a roomy 2.9 inch TFT LCD display screen with a 320 x 240 resolution that supports 16 million colors.
There are a few minor differences between the Nokia E61 and the Nokia E61i and they are:
- Physical dimensions – Nokia E61 measures 4.5 x 2.75 x 0.75 inches and weighs 5.1 ounces while Nokia E61i measures 4.6 x 2.8 x 0.6 inches and weighs 5.3 ounces.
- Camera – Nokia E61 was designed without a camera but Nokia E61i features a 23 megapixel camera
- Keyboard – Nokia E61 offers a navigation joystick but Nokia E61i offers a D-pad and several additional buttons for quicker access.
- External memory – Nokia E61 provides a MiniSD while Nokia E61i provides MicroSD.
- Battery – Nokia E61 uses LiPo 1500 mAh battery that allows up to 7 hours of talk time and up to 260 hours of standby time. Nokia E61 uses Li-Ion 1500 mAh that allows up to 5 hours of talk time and 408 hours of standby time.
The Nokia E61 and the Nokia E61i are identical in their other built-in features such as:
- Operation system – S60 platform, third edition on Symbian OS
- Internal Memory – 64 MB
- Connectivity – WLAN Wi-Fi 54 Mb/s 802.11g, PAN Bluetooth 1.2 (723.1 kb/s); infrared and full-speed USB
- Multimedia – Music player supporting MP3, AAC, WAV, AMR, RealPlayer, e-mail, and image browser
